The federal government recently released a list of critical infrastructure industries whose workers are “essential” and should continue normal work schedules during the coronavirus. Commercial Construction Increases in 2017

The construction industry has seen an increase from a year ago according to the Associated General Contractors of America. Commercial construction rose 13.6 percent since 2016. And office construction grew 24.8 percent compared to 2016. Power construction including oil and gas, gained a 9.4 percent increase over the last 12 months. Manufacturing construction fell 9.8 percent from last year. Highway construction increased by 1.3 percent for the month of February, but is down 5.1 percent year-over-year.
